Print and Play Picks for Halloween Weekend 🎃
Halloween is less than a week away. The weather is cooler, the evenings are darker, and the air just feels a little enchanted. It’s the time of year when horror game sessions, eerie candles, and anything a little supernatural just fit right in.
So of course, we need a spooky game to complete the season. And bless the hallows, I found you a couple!
Doom Cat

You’re a witch. Demons exist. Spell books are how you keep them in check.
Seems like a stable system, right?
Except your cat has chosen chaos.
This mischievous creature is knocking over spell books and unleashing demons left and right. You are scrambling to bind them back while your cat watches like it planned this all along.
Doom Cat is a roll-and-write that feels alive. Everyone rolls at once. You mark cards, build sigils, chase goals, and try to bind the released demons. Meanwhile, your cat keeps stealing one die every round and making things worse!
The theme integration in this game is solid. The artwork, sigils that resemble pentacles, and capturing demons make for a cracker of a combo for this year's Halloween.
I printed the PNP version and made a proper spooky setup. Potion bottles, candlelight, pinches of salt on the table. I played solo first, followed by 1v1, and had a blast!
It's simple if you want it to be, yet strategic if you lean into it. And across three levels, it grows beautifully without overwhelming you.
So, if you want something spooky that does not require hours of learning, this is the one. Find the PNP version of Doom Cat on Itch, or the boxed version on BackerKit. It's currently on sale on Itch, and it's PNP so you might get it right away. You know what to do!
PS: Read my review article on Doom Cat if you want to learn more about the game.
Escape the Living Library

You love reading books at your local library. But who would have guessed it transforms into an absolute nightmare after midnight?
As the darkest hours unfold, navigate the eerie halls of the haunted library by relying on your knowledge, dwindling stamina, and defense (thick books) to make it through the night! But can you make it? Can you escape?
If you’re looking for a one-page horror PNP that needs zero assembly, you’re in for a treat. Escape the Living Library is all about resource management, tough choices, and making your way through six floors of a haunted library full of spooky spirits. It’s a challenging one, so if you manage to win, you’ll earn every bit of bragging rights. Like Doom Cat, this game is also available on sale on itch, so you get it as soon as you make the purchase!
If you want to dive deeper, I wrote a blog on Escape the Living Library where I share my experience with the game.
Have a great Halloween weekend!
