One game turned adorable red pandas into pure tabletop chaos.
Another had me mapping a tomb with a mummy breathing down my neck.
And somewhere in between, I stumbled upon a game where aliens are trying to find the humans hiding among them.
Get ready for a whole new level of weirdness, in the best way possible!
Pandas
A little while ago, I mentioned that I’d let you folks know once the print-and-play version of Red Panda Surprise went live on Itch.
Well… it’s here 👀
And honestly, I’m so glad more people get to experience this adorable little troublemaker of a card game.
Dylan Coyle once again pulls off that Charming Games magic where everything looks cute, right until the table starts slipping into mayhem. Also, feels great seeing a snapshot of my thoughts featured on the campaign page itself. Very, very cool moment!
And if you’ve been meaning to try more Charming Games titles, there’s currently a special PnP bundle deal running on Itch while the campaign lasts. Dangerous information for your printer, I know. Check it out!
Mummies
Meanwhile, Hidden Realms: Mummy’s Tomb is entering its final stretch, with just 8 days left on its Gamefound campaign.
After spending nearly two months with it, I still think Hidden Realms’ greatest strength is the pressure it creates through the limited rounds.
You map the tomb tile by tile, uncovering pathways, treasures, encounters, and whatever might help before time runs out and the mummy closes in. Every move matters.
So, do you spend rounds fighting monsters?
Do you push deeper into the tomb?
Or do you play it safe and focus on mapping the most efficient route possible?
That constant push and pull between mapping deeper, picking your fights, and surviving the tomb never really lets up.
With the campaign nearing its end, this might be the right time to step inside the tomb yourself.
Aliens
Now onto the alien business…
EFS: The Universal Voting Game is part of this year’s Micro May wave, and while I haven’t played it yet, the premise instantly grabbed me.
From what I understand, this one flips the usual alien paranoia setup on its head.
Instead of humans trying to find the aliens, it looks like aliens are trying to locate the humans hiding among them!
Which is such a delightfully weird little reversal.
Bright colors. Silly questions. Voting. Suspicion. And somewhere in that chaos, a few humans trying not to get exposed! Haha.
Very curious to see how this one plays out. Give its campaign page a peek?
So, which one has piqued your interest? Pandas, mummies, or aliens?
