Do you folks listen to music while playing PnPs? Or games in general?
If not, you definitely should!
It certainly adds to the mood of the game. It’s been a couple of years since I added music to my game time. I even have a few playlists in place for different types of games now. The tracks in those playlists are mostly victims of my own musical bias, so I’m not sharing those today…
But what I DO have for you folks is something you might have never come across before. And it’s a gem!
I was browsing through itch and realized they host a TON of music too. Many of the tracks are free, shared by artists for people to use in digital games or somesuch.
And since I’m currently working on a digital game, Midnight Arcade (and it’s gonna be awesome!), I ended up going through a ridiculous number of tracks while looking for the right BGM (background music) for the game. That would be 600+ tracks, sir. :P
Since I had all this music sitting in front of me anyway, I thought, why not listen to some of it while playing Echoes of Tomorrow instead of putting on my usual playlist?
And I LOVED IT!
There was one album in particular that I really liked. It’s by an artist called Not Jam, and it’s this synth-meets-16-bit hybrid that just sounds sick.

The Not Jam tracks can be downloaded on itch through a pay-what-you-want model, so you can literally try them for free. Or throw in a few bucks if you like them and want to make someone’s day!
I don’t even know the person behind these tracks, since they’ve kept themselves anonymous. Not Jam also has digital games and other stuff alongside the music loops, so I definitely ended up digging around a little more after discovering the album.
