Looking back at 2025

I sat down to write this issue on the last day of the year. And like many of you, I took a walk down memory lane.

2025, what a year! It’s absolutely been a launching pad for me and PnP Time.

Over the year, I explored 45 new print and play games, taking the time to really experience them and write 40 in-depth articles on what stood out. The numbers could have been much higher, but I chose to nitpick and focus on showcasing the best games out there. As a game designer, I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of games released this year, many of which stayed on my table far longer than I’d anticipated.

One of my favorite parts of this year was launching the series Minds Behind Games. I spoke with 7 incredible game designers, each sharing their journey, doubts, and breakthroughs. Listening to their stories reminded me why I fell in love with game design in the first place.

Releasing Escape the Living Library was also a huge moment for me. Seeing 100+ players experience that tension and mystery felt unreal. Even more special was watching our Facebook community grow to 1100+ members, all sharing builds, plays, and tiny victories.

I’ve always wanted to be closer to my readers, something I feel articles don’t quite deliver on their own. That’s why I launched this newsletter, and the love and support I’ve received from all of you has been nothing short of extraordinary.
