Less than a month to Micro May
The biggest PnP event of the year?

Ever heard of Micro May?
If you’re into print-and-play games, chances are you have. Because for PnP, this is as big as it gets.
There are plenty of events in the board game space. Campaign waves. Conventions. But when it comes specifically to print-and-play, Micro May has to be right up there at the top. At least for me.
It is Kickstarter’s annual open call for small-scale tabletop games, bringing together compact ideas that aims to deliver a big impact.
I got my first real taste of it last year, and I ended up playing nine games from the campaign. And if May hadn’t flown by so quickly, I probably would have played even more.
What stood out? Every single game felt different. Be it by theme, mechanics, or artwork.
One had me spotting cats in a crowded mess of illustrations. Another turned reading into gameplay, blending a novella with mini-games. There was one where I was cleaning crime scenes while trying not to get caught, my first ever memory-and-write!

9 PnPs I played in Micro May 2025
It’s not just a collection of small games, it’s a collection of ideas. Designers experimenting. Trying things out. Pushing weird, creative concepts into something playable. And a lot of the time… it works.
Fast forward to now. We’re less than a month away from the next Micro May, and I can already feel that same excitement creeping in!
I’ve already managed to get one game in my hands: Rope Walkers. From Curry, the same mind behind Teeny Tusslers. And if that game was anything to go by… I know I’m in for something fun.
If you’re into print-and-play games, this is the time to pay attention. Micro May is where a lot of fresh ideas show up. Let’s see how many I end up playing this time. Hopefully more than last time.
I’m also thinking about putting together a page on my website to track my Micro May in real time… let’s see how that goes!
