From Halloween to Christmas Vibes!

Tetris X Colors X Puzzles X Roll-and-write

There’s a very specific moment every year when my game table switches gear.

One week it’s all pumpkins and shadows, and suddenly my table wants color, twinkle, and anything that feels like the start of December. Packing Party happened to land right at that crossroads, and honestly, it snapped me straight into holiday mode without asking twice.

For holiday season, I always lean on games that are flexible, and Packing Party parks right in that aisle. You can steer it in whatever direction you want. Play it slow and enjoy the art, the colors, the little shapes filling the boxes. Or turn it into a lively game session where everyone’s eyeing the same colors and trying to make the smartest pull.  It also works beautifully in solo. Five rounds, a sheet, a few dice, colors and it becomes a quiet little project you unwind with.

And if holiday themes aren’t your thing, the game still finds its place. Packing Party has two variations: Santa's Helpers and Moving Day.  Santa’s Helpers has you drafting and packing gifts for foster kids at Santa's workshop, while Moving Day has you organizing household items into boxes before a move, using the same polyomino puzzler magic, but each with its own theme, items, and goals.

If you want the full breakdown, read my blog. But for the newsletter, I’ll leave you with this: Packing Party is the first holiday game to hit my table this season, and it was the right one to flip the switch. And you only got 3 days to back the game on Kickstarter.

Until next week!
