You are a royal and loyal servant, sworn to protect the princess. Oh, and you have to make her breakfast.

There’s just one small problem.

Everything you’re dealing with is on a countdown to explode.

The prophets? They explode.

The food? Explodes.

The princess herself? Also explodes!

That’s the wonderfully absurd setup of All Is Bomb, a solo PnP by Blaž Gracar of Letibus Design. And yes, it is every bit as fun as it sounds.

In All Is Bomb, your job is to consult prophets to learn which breakfast the princess is destined to eat, prepare that dish before it explodes, and then serve it to her before she explodes.

Easy, right? Not quite.

The game constantly asks you to think ahead, plan your moves carefully, and manage the timing of everything in your deck.

The entire game consists of just 18 double-sided cards. That’s it. It fits in the palm of your hand, sets up quickly, and is incredibly travel-friendly. Print it, build it, and you’re good to go.

Gameplay-wise, this is not a “learn as you go” kind of game. Taking a bit of time to understand the rules pays off big time. Once you get familiar with the cards, things start to click. You begin spotting patterns, planning multiple turns ahead, and realizing that what first felt like luck is actually clever deck manipulation.

It also grows on you pretty fast. My first few plays were disastrous, but after a few rounds I got the hang of the game and really got cracking.

A heads up, though! Staring at pancake and croissant cards for long enough will make you hungry. Snacks recommended.
