3 Hidden Gems for Game Enthusiasts and Designers

Platforms that deserve the spotlight

Call me Lord of the Gifts, bearer of things new and exciting!

Other than playing, designing and reviewing games, I am always on the lookout for new platforms that will:

  • let me connect with more gamers

  • give me creative spaces to showcase what I’ve built

  • streamline my game design process.

And I might have stumbled on the holy trinity!

PnPFinder

PnPFinder, as the name suggests, is a community-driven platform designed to help board game enthusiasts discover print-and-play  games. Think of it as a curated directory, offering all the necessary info to free and paid PnP games across various genres. You can filter games by player count, duration, complexity, and mechanics, making it easier to find games of your type.

Don’t miss the "Curated Lists" in the filter section. You'll be amazed!

You can also add games to the directory, so if you know a print-and-play that’s missing, you know what to do!

Gumroad

This one is dedicated to new game designers and content creators who are just getting started.

Gumroad is a simple platform where creators sell digital products directly to fans; be it games, art, music, or ebooks. And why am I recommending it?

  • The entry barrier is next to zero

  • You can upload your PnP games and start selling in minutes

  • The commission is comparatively low

And above all, it’s perfect for those who have one foot in content creation and the other in game design! And I know many who falls in that category, including myself.

As a game designer and blogger, I can use Gumroad to sell my PnP games, offer blog consulting, and build a subscriber base to share my updates.

And speaking of PnP games, Escape the Living Library is now available on Gumroad at an unbeatable price!

Boardssey

A platform for gamers, game designers, and publishers- all in one!

To design games, I used to jot and sketch on notebooks for ideas, brainstorm on Illustrator through a makeshift whiteboard, manage spreadsheets for progress, and rely on WhatsApp groups to keep my team aligned.

Now, thanks to Boardssey, it's all in one place!

Be it the shared workspace, digital whiteboard, tracking tasks trough checklists or logging playtests using built-in templates: my first month of exploring Boarssey has been fascinating!

It feels like having 360 design diary not just for me, but also for potential publishers and fans.

And I’ve only scratched the surface. There are so many features I haven’t even explored yet. Can’t wait!

Till next week, gamers!
